Yay! That makes me insanely happy :)

I loved this Will, and I so admire the way you’re adapting to all the constraints you have to deal with.

Oh, thanks. It's really the Moon who should get the credit. She doesn't give time extensions on assignments. Though how you keep your own multi-pronged output so consistent is utterly beyond me.

Nice to hear your voice and hear how you adapted to audio when writing was just not possible. That is inspiring. The flower moon was beautiful last night as it was illuminating my backyard, spotlighting the newly planted flowers.

Makes me so happy that the flower moon is living up to its name in your backyard. Savoring that vision from afar. Thanks, Patricia.

I love this drawing! Never could I create anything this coherent in your situation, even a few nights of broken sleep make me feel ill and unable to remember words and names…hope Morpheus visits soon.

Morpheus came, thankfully! I'm not sure I was totally coherent but I couldn't let the Lunatics down. Plus you're all so kind, I knew you'd be a forgiving crowd!

In the Indian mythology, there is a goddess of sleep known as Nidra devi. Here is an anecdote from the famous Mythology Ramayana. Rama's brother Lakshmana is said to have not slept for 14 years.

But he is able to do it only if someone else sleeps on his behalf. You can read more in the below link.

Sad to hear about your difficulty with sleep. I do hope the goddess of sleep visits you frequently.

Really wonderful to hear that, Mike. My best to the whole DeAngelis crew in MD.

P.S. Tell that brother of yours I still talk to him in my head. Hope he's doing great.

Your audio is just as engaging as the written version! I can't help wondering if the reason you are suffering from sleeplessness is because someone stole the moon, though -- have you tried to get it back? I know it was a dream, but there's other ways to enter dreams than sleep, and the boundaries between the two worlds are porous.

While I listened to your podcast, Will, I was cleaning off my desk and found a stack of post-its that had gotten lost beneath the mechanism that raises it for standing work. There was writing on the top post-it, but I set it aside, thinking it was probably just some work related note. Just now, packing up to leave for the day, an hour after I left the previous comment, I picked it up and read what it said: Release the boundaries between the tangible and the dream. I don’t remember when or why wrote that (it’s definitely my handwriting) but clearly the message was meant for you. 🙏

What a cool serendipity! And I'm with you—the boundary between the dreamworld and the real world is as porous as a colander. You may be onto something. There's some symbolic block communicated in that dream. I'll think about it. Meanwhile, please do me a favor and keep an eye out for a white van with a duck-taped moon in the back 🌔 😆.

I really enjoyed listening Will! I hope you find some restful, comforting sleep soon.

Thanks, Pamela! I got some zzzzzzz's at long last. Appreciate you listening.

Thank you, Will. Even if even keeled sleep would return to you on a regular basis, please keep the possibility of future oral presentations in your quiver. Your oral voice added another dimension to your story. How dare anyone try to make off with the moon in the back of a pickup!

That's really nice feedback and I'll keep it in mind. Now, Kash, please tell me to which government department I should report the stolen moon. Environmental police? NASA? Space force?

Van, not pickup..

What eloquence amid sleeplessness—such a thoughtful meditation which elevated my bus ride; thank you.

Thanks, Ruby! No higher praise. And now that I think of it, The Wheels on the Bus 🎵 might be a good lullaby to sing in my head trying to fall asleep...

will i just adore this—and just read something today about how written text has been separated over time from speech, sound, listening. And then this post came up and I thought—of course. How lovely to hear your voice and feel like we’re in conversation. Love your work so much. 💜 🌖
