Thanks for sharing Max's story, Will. He was a courageous and foresighted young man. I had the great privilege to talk and email with him near the end of his life. Max shared his position on this topic at the Brain Preservation Foundation (BPF) a nonprofit I work with. Here is how he made the case for BP:
The BPF seeks to validate whether high-quality, medically-provided brain preservation truly does preserve our memories and identity for future revival, according to modern neuroscience. Like Max,
believe high-fidelity methods like ASC, and lower cost methods like room-temperature plastination and storage, would work, if offered today. It will take a lot of work to make such methods available within the cryopreservation industry, and accessible to everyone, as an end of life option, for that growing minority of people who might want it, at death. If you'd like to help us in this worthy effort, consider volunteering at the BPF, making a small donation, or signing up for our free newsletter. Thanks.
Thank you for allowing me to discover the story of an amazing young man.
May Max rest in peace
Wonderful read as usual, thank you Will 🌔

He also made another brief BP advocacy video that I hope more people see:
